Overview The origins of East Hill Farm date to the 1740s, when New Marlborough was first being settled, and Thomas Shepard came from Cambridge, Massachusetts, to establish a home in Southfield. In 1798, he built a grander residence signifying his stature in the community and his prosperity as a farmer.
